Volunteer Program Logo

Do you have a passion for classic cars? Love helping small businesses grow? Want to get your hands dirty by pitching in to clean a neighborhood? So do our volunteers! Each year hundreds of residents and supporters volunteer their time and energy to make our programs run successfully. So just how do they make an impact? The El Cajon CDC takes a skills-based approach to volunteerism. That means we find a way to utilize your strengths and find a position that has meaning for you.

Special events like Cajon Classic Cruise, Concerts on the Green and Alley Cat Art Walk provide free entertainment, drawing visitors from all over East County and beyond. These events provide the opportunity for residents and community supporters to participate directly by promoting our events and selling raffle tickets. But special events are just one of the reasons Downtown El Cajon is a great place to live, work, play- and volunteer. Other programs include Community Enhancement, providing friendly Ambassadors and the Lend A Hand Program that fosters neighborhood pride. Local businesses also find support from the Economic Development Programs that provide networking opportunities and grants.

If you have experience with community development, economic development, affordable housing or resource development, we want to hear from you! From administrative assistance to membership on our Board of Directors, the El Cajon CDC is always looking for people who want to show they believe in Downtown El Cajon. To get involved, please join us in our office for a Volunteer Open House. The next Open House will take place on Friday, June 6 at 2:00 pm or 6:00 pm. Please RSVP to Jenna Miller, Resource Development Associate, at (619) 401-8858.
