Thank you to our wonderful supporters of Concerts on the Green!
Beautiful Downtown El Cajon was the scene for the final show of Concerts on the Green on Friday, September 4th, the free weekly summer concert series featuring live music for all ages. The season ended with the high-energy performance by FX5 on the Prescott Promenade, where Master of Ceremonies Ed Waymire wrapped up the series by drawing a lucky winner for the beautiful “Big Baby Taylor” Guitar, donated by Taylor Guitar of El Cajon. Congratulations to Paul Bacon of Santee; who danced the rest of the night away with the guitar draped over his back! We thank our loyal spectators and generous sponsors for helping make it the best season ever!

Meet Ed Waymire, Master of Ceremonies!
Concerts on the Green wouldn’t be what they are without its very own M.C., Ed Waymire! Ed volunteers as the official M.C. and helps us welcome the bands every week as well as announcing the raffle winners. Not only does Ed interact with the crowd with his friendly spirit and comedic repartee, he also assists with developing general program content. Ed is no stranger to Downtown El Cajon; he is a past promotion committee chair, past board member, and past chairman of the board for the El Cajon CDC. He is also a member and past president of the El Cajon Valley Host Lions Club. His volunteer and charity work reflect the kind of person he is, and Concerts on the Green is lucky to have his support. We look forward to welcoming Ed back every season and thank him for all his help.
Concerts on the Green remain popular as ever
We listened to you last year and brought all your favorite bands you wanted. As a result Concerts on the Green had a record season in 2009 as over 13,650 people packed the Prescott Promenade throughout the entire year. We brought you favorites such as The Cat-illacs, The Coolrays, and The Corvettes, but we also introduced you to a few new bands including Diamond is Forever and FX5. We hope you enjoyed last season as much as we did bringing it to you, and can’t wait for June 25, 2010. We can't thank you enough for your participation in the weekly raffles, which brought in over $4,000 to help support the continuation of Concerts on the Green. Always feel free to let us know what you think, the bands you liked, or the bands you'd like to see, so we can continue to improve the concerts year after year. Email your feedback by clicking here.
