 Cajon Classic Cruise Season a Big Success
The 21-week summer season of the 9th Annual Cajon Classic Cruise wrapped up on Wednesday, September 30 with Closing Night festivities. In addition to the usual array of amazing classic cars and trophy winners, photographer Pete Liebig and Charger Steve presented a slideshow featuring highlights from all the great shows this summer. The lucky winner was also drawn for our 1920s vintage gas pump replica (courtesy of PG Series Trucks): Shari Murao of Santee, who is also a dedicated volunteer and avid supporter of the Cajon Classic Cruise. Congratulations to Shari and all the raffle prize and trophy winners of the entire season! Thank you for your support of the car shows and the El Cajon CDC.
Our final two shows of 2009 were in October and December. Both full street closure shows from 5:00 - 8:00 pm, the Halloween Trunk or Treat on Wednesday, October 28 featured adults and kids costume contests as well as prizes for best-dressed cars. Car owners and downtown merchants hannded out candy, this was a fun family event! The Parade of Lights on Wednesday, December 9 brought a visit from Santa and the chance for car owners to decorate their cars for a delightful cruise down East Main Street.
The Cajon Classic Cruise features hundreds of classic, custom and hot rod cars as well as "Bike Row" motorcycles in a street festival setting every Wednesday evening from early summer through early fall. Always free of charge to participate and attend, each week features a different theme. Check back in early 2010 for a full listing of weekly spotlighted themes for the 10th season.
